The SKeyes Center for Media and Cultural Freedom at the Samir Kassir Foundation, is honored to invite you to its fifth international conference, titled “Freedom, Journalism and Religion” to be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Al-Bustan Hotel in Beit Mery, starting 10:30 AM. The conference is organized in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, with the support of the European Union and Canal France International. The conference is open to the public.

The conference will highlight the media, communications, and outreach strategies of religious institutions. It will also feature initiatives that have been promoting secularism in the Arab world. Humor and religion as well as religious-based censorship will also be discussed with participants from more than fifteen countries.

Two days of training workshops for journalists will take place on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7, with international reporters, activists and trainers, sharing their skills and experiences with their counterparts. The training workshops are open to journalists who register only.
